I LOVE, LOVE theatre and teaching! I think it is a beautiful combination that I was born to do. One of my favorite things is watching my students blossom into confident young adults performing or working "behind the scenes" to make the show a success, it brings out the total stage mom in me! Those are the moments I live for...
Theatre is more than that, though, it's character building. Students learn real-life skills such as, working within a group through tactful communication, dedication to something bigger than yourself, and self-discipline. In fact, many of the character traits that students develop through Theatre education emphasize our AMS motto of PURPOSE, PASSION, AND PRIDE.
I was born and raised in South Texas. I graduated from Texas A&M-CC with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication with an emphasis Theatre in 2002. I have been teaching for 17 years! I have a daughter, Madison, that is an ICU nurse in San Antonio and my son, Jackson, is working as a Construction Supervisor in Corpus Christi. They have my heart. I, also, have 2 adorable pugs, Junebug and MaeMae that keep me entertained at home!
